Downtown Westminster took another step forward on July 13th, 2026, with City Council and WEDA’s approval of a Purchase and Sale Agreement and Development Agreement with Greystar Corporation for the development of Block D-5. The $60 million proposed project will bring approximately 166 new luxury, active adult homes to Downtown Westminster for residents aged 55 and older.
The four-story community will offer a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartment homes along with a variety of amenities designed to encourage an active and connected lifestyle. Planned amenities include an integrated clubhouse, dining and event spaces, a fitness and yoga room, media and theater room, craft studio, game room, library, pool, two courtyards, and outdoor gathering spaces.
Building a More Diverse Downtown
The addition of active adult housing will bring a new residential option to Downtown Westminster while also addressing an identified need in the local housing market. The project is expected to bring new daytime activity to Downtown, supporting local restaurants, retail, and entertainment. According to the Jefferson County Economic Impact Report, the project is estimated to support approximately 262 jobs during construction.
Greystar is a national leader in the active adult market, with more than 12,000 active adult units and four existing communities in the Denver metro area. The company also manages nearly 2,900 units across 10 properties in Westminster.
