Downtown Westminster will see a boost in activity thanks to a new $300,000 pilot program approved by the Westminster Economic Development Authority Board in partnership with the Westminster Chamber of Commerce. Funded by taxes generated from Downtown Westminster businesses and residents, the year-long initiative will focus on driving foot traffic, community engagement, and local economic growth through at least six signature community events, ten business and retail activation initiatives, and twelve interactive programs between May 2025 and April 2026. Building on the success of events like the 2024 holiday lighting ceremony in Central Square, city leaders hope this collaboration will strengthen Downtown’s identity as a gathering place and support local businesses.
