On May 30, 2026, the City of Westminster celebrated the grand opening of Aerostat Park, the newest public space in Downtown Westminster. Hundreds of residents gathered to enjoy free ice cream, live entertainment, family activities, and a first look at the park’s many amenities.
Located at 5750 W. Central Avenue, Aerostat Park was designed as the centerpiece of Downtown Westminster, providing flexible spaces for recreation, community events, and everyday enjoyment. The three-acres features a lighted spray pad, playground, off-leash dog area, picnic shelters, walking paths, fire pit, games, and open spaces that will support year-round events.
The park’s name pays tribute to the iconic hot air balloons that once hung inside Westminster Mall. Several park elements honor this nostalgic symbol while creating a vibrant new destination for the community.
The grand opening markes not only the completion of a new park, but another significant step forward in the vision for a thriving, walkable downtown.
